A range day goes better when you decided the work before you left the house. The shooting is for the drills you already wrote down.
Write the drills first. Then pack the ammunition those drills use. Shooting whatever was sitting near the door is how you burn the box you meant to keep.
Eye protection has to stay on your face for the whole string. If the glasses fog, or if they slide down your nose, you stop watching the sights. Bring a pair that fits. Hearing protection has to seal. If the shot comes through the way a voice does, it isn’t seated. Bring something to mark your zero with, and bring what you need to pick up after yourself.
Ammunition on the site is split into handgun and rifle. There’s a wider ammunition category if you’re still sorting calibers. One pair of glasses listed for this is the Venture Howitzer, clear anti-fog lens, black frame.
If you can’t say what you’re shooting before you park, you’ll go through the box you brought and drive home with less ammunition and nothing you can point to as the work.
