Dot Torture

Fifty rounds, ten small dots, three yards. Close enough to feel easy. It isn’t.

What this proves: You can make every hit on demand when nobody is rushing you.

Setup

3 yd. One Dot Torture sheet (ten 2-inch dots). 50 rounds, about four magazines. Holster for the draw strings.

How to run it

  1. Work the sheet dot by dot: slow fire, draws, strong hand only, support hand only, and pairs between dots, as printed on the sheet.
  2. Shoot at a pace you can keep clean. Any hit outside a dot is a miss.
  3. Pass is all 50 in the dots. Clean it at 3, then back up a yard.

The standard

Clean-run rule: Squared Away takes all 50 in the dots. Anything less, count the hits.

Next level: clean it at 5 yards, then 7. Or clean it at 3 in under 5 minutes.

What it trains

Trigger control, draws and one-handed shooting under zero time pressure, which is exactly where sloppy habits show.
